LiftMaster Welding & Fabrication: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide

We stock LiftMaster-compatible welding and fabrication parts on our trucks across Fort Worth, and most bracket, hinge, and gate-frame repairs run between $180 and $650 installed, depending on the damage. We can usually get to a failed LiftMaster gate the same day you call, because the part that broke is almost always one we already carry. What we see most often in Fort Worth: a gate that’s sagging, a mounting bracket that cracked at the weld, or a hinge plate that tore loose from the post, leaving the opener to fight a gate it can no longer move cleanly.

Call (817) 476-9945

Here’s the honest picture: you probably noticed the gate dragging, heard the motor straining, or spotted a crack in the metal before anything fully let go. Sometimes the opener still runs fine, but the gate itself is failing around it. That’s the welding and fabrication conversation, and it’s one we’ve had thousands of times since 2014.

Which LiftMaster Models This Applies To

Welding and fabrication work isn’t tied to a single LiftMaster model, it’s tied to the gate the opener is bolted to, and in Fort Worth that’s usually a heavy wrought-iron swing gate or a tubular steel slide gate. The most common setups we weld on are LiftMaster LA400 and LA500 swing operators, SL3000 slide operators, and the CSL24V and RSW12V lines, all of which depend on solid mounting points to do their job.

The compatibility gotcha most owners miss: the opener’s model number tells you nothing about the bracket steel. LiftMaster ships universal mounting kits, but the arm bracket, hinge plates, and post brackets are often fabricated by whoever installed the gate, sometimes poorly, sometimes years ago. Before we quote anything, we measure the gate leaf, check the post steel, and photograph the existing welds. That determines whether we can salvage the original bracket or need to fabricate a replacement on site. OEM LiftMaster brackets exist, but for custom Fort Worth gates, a properly welded bracket from 3/16-inch or 1/4-inch steel plate usually outlasts the factory part, especially after a few Texas summers of expansion and contraction.

We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with LiftMaster, so our loyalty is to the gate in front of us, not to any brand’s parts catalog. If Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, or DoorKing is what’s actually on your property, we stock and fabricate for those too.

Signs Your LiftMaster Welding & Fabrication Is Failing

Signs Your LiftMaster Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
  • The gate sags at the hinge side. Hinge plates were welded to the post years ago, and the weld is now stretched or cracked. The gate drops a half-inch or more, and the opener has to drag it through the last few degrees of travel.
  • The opener arm bracket is loose or cracked. LiftMaster arms push and pull with enough force to fatigue thin steel. We regularly find hairline cracks around the bolt holes, and in Fort Worth’s clay-heavy soils, post movement makes it worse every season.
  • The gate binds partway through its travel. A weld let go somewhere on the frame, so the gate flexes and catches. The opener’s force settings keep climbing until the board eventually faults out.
  • You can see daylight through an old weld. That’s not cosmetic. Water gets in, rust follows, and the crack grows until the bracket tears free. In Fort Worth humidity and the occasional freeze-thaw cycle, this accelerates fast.
  • The opener was recently replaced but the gate still struggles. If the new LiftMaster was bolted to the old broken bracket or a compromised hinge, the new motor is now doing the same impossible job the old one did. We see this at least once a week.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Most LiftMaster-related welding and fabrication in Fort Worth falls into one of three price bands:

  • Bracket or hinge plate repair, single point: $180 to $320. We cut out the old bracket, fabricate a replacement from steel plate, weld it, grind it clean, and repaint.
  • Full hinge set replacement, both posts: $350 to $550. Both hinge plates are fabricated and welded, the gate is re-hung, and we reset the opener’s travel limits.
  • Frame repair or reinforcement: $400 to $650. Split tubing, rusted-through bottom rails, or a gate that’s twisted enough to need gusseting gets welded and braced, then primed and painted to match.

Every price is written down and handed to you before we strike an arc. No surprise invoice at the end, no “well, it turned out to be more work than we thought.” Under The Haven Standard, Clause 1 says have it in writing, and we’ve done that on every one of the 22,000-plus gates we’ve repaired since 2014. The work itself carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if a weld we made fails within a year, we come back and fix it at no charge, no argument.

Welding a gate bracket is not a homeowner job. A bad weld on a moving gate can fail catastrophically, and a 400-pound gate coming off its hinges is a serious hazard to anyone in its path. We say that plainly because we’ve had to re-weld plenty of DIY attempts where the bead looked fine from three feet away but had zero penetration.

What you can safely check before calling: photograph the bracket and hinge area from both sides, note where the gate drags or binds, and write down the LiftMaster model number from the sticker on the opener. That tells us what we’re likely walking into. Then call (817) 476-9945, and we’ll have a technician named and dispatched, with a written price before any work begins. Live person answers, 24/7, no phone tree.
