Signs Your Elite Welding & Fabrication Is Failing

• The gate drags on the latch side and leaves a scrape mark. The hinge-side welds have started to crack, and the gate has dropped a quarter inch or more. The weld isn’t necessarily failed, but it’s failing, and every cycle works the crack deeper.
• A picket or finial rattles when the gate closes. The picket-to-rail weld has broken free, usually at the bottom rail where moisture and vibration do their worst. If left alone, the picket works as a lever and cracks the top rail next.
• The gate dips or drops suddenly when it opens. The hinge barrel itself has sheared or the post bracket has cracked. This is the failure that makes the opener work harder and can burn out a motor if it goes unnoticed.
